Grilled Cedar Plank Salmon

Description

A simple, quick weeknight recipe that will have a healthy dinner on the table in 30 minutes. This salmon is packed with deep, rich flavor with just a hint of smoke. It is perfect for a date night in.


Ingredients

Rub

  • 1 Tbsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp granulated garlic
  • 1/4 Tbsp pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika

Glaze

  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar

Instructions

  1. Prepare grill for direct cooking at medium-high, about 400 degrees
  2. Make the glaze: whisk honey and balsamic vinegar together in a small cup or bowl
  3. Make the rub: combine all ingredients in a small bowl and season salmon
  4. Place cedar plank on grill for 2 minutes, or until slightly charred on one side.
  5. Flip plank and place salmon fillets on charred side
  6. Close grill lid and cook for 12 minutes
  7. Glaze with honey-balsamic mixture and continue cooking for 3-5 additional minutes or until internal temperature reaches 130 degrees.
  8. Remove from grill and glaze a final time
  9. Serve immediately with grilled asparagus and prepared rice
